Sweet cherry is simply part of summer with its fruitiness, vanilla stevia gives an elegant hint of this fantastic flavor while lime juice plays an important role in freshening the flavors with a tangy yet smooth kick of citrus.

This accompaniment is just made for those hot and lazy summer days when you don’t feel like spending too much time in the kitchen and when you don’t want to have anything too hearty and heavy.

This crunchy cucumber side dish is a fresh combination of sweet and savory, with a notable touch of nourishing raw apple cider vinegar. Cucumber’s old companion, dill, completes the relationship between this two-man team. H’m, veggie team.

You can prepare this salad beforehand, but as it’s fresh pickles, you don’t need to wait for days or weeks before enjoying — this tangy tidbit is ready within two hours.

Hope you can pardon me for publishing another appetizer in a row. Actually, nothing prevents from serving this also as side dish. I’m just so thrilled about the flavors of the spring that I simply have to publish another recipe using spring vegetables.

This appetizer is especially for those who don’t have a charcoal grill, or who want to prepare a delicious and easy dish quickly and without too much pain. Combining liquid smoke with asparagus is a sure-fire hit. Hint of balsamic vinegar gives a slightly tangy touch, olive oil and salt are natural companions of the green goddess of spring.
