If there’s one thing the keto world needs more of, it’s stews that don’t taste like punishment. Enter my Keto Chicken and Feta Stew: a bubbling, tangy, salty-creamy dish that requires only five ingredients and exactly zero culinary gymnastics. It’s hearty enough for a ketovore, friendly enough for carnivores who don’t faint at the sight of lemon juice, and guaranteed to make your kitchen smell like you’ve been secretly trained by a Greek γιαγιά (grandmother) with a serious love for feta.
The idea for this dish actually came from the newsletter of a big grocery store chain. Their version was stuffed with pasta and a parade of plant-based extras, but I couldn’t help thinking: strip it down to the essentials, and you’ve got a perfect keto stew. So, I ditched the carbs and kept only the good stuff: chicken, feta, lemon, salt, and pepper—and the result is this gloriously simple, keto-friendly stew.
Well, the original recipe didn’t have white pepper, but I wanted to use white pepper because I had just sourced an excellent organic one that I now sell in my Finnish clean keto online store. I grind it myself with a powerful little grinder, so the flavor is fresh, bright, and worlds apart from the dusty white pepper tins you might remember from your childhood pantry. Plus, white pepper is lower in oxalates than black pepper.
I can assure you this dish tastes amazing. What else can you expect from clean, keto-approved ingredients baked into a rich, tangy, and comforting stew? Whether you’re ketovore, carnivore-curious, or simply need a new weeknight hero for the whole family, this dish has your back.
Step-by-Step Instructions
Place 1 1/2 lbs (700 g) cubed boneless chicken breast or thighs into a 2-quart (2-liter) ovenproof dish.

Sprinkle 1 teaspoon (or to taste) unrefined sea salt…

…and 1/2 teaspoon freshly ground white pepper over the chicken.

Toss well to coat every piece.

Scatter 7 oz (200 g) crumbled feta cheese evenly across the seasoned chicken.

Drizzle 2 tablespoons of freshly squeezed organic lemon juice over the whole thing.

Cover the dish with a lid or foil.

Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 30 minutes.

Remove the cover.

Stir gently.

Bake for another 15 minutes, or until the chicken is cooked through (the juices run clear) and the feta has melted into a creamy sauce.

Give everything one last stir to combine the juices and feta into a tangy, savory stew.

Serve hot.

Tips for Variations
This stew is simple and satisfying as written, but if you feel like experimenting, here are some keto-friendly twists you might enjoy:
Brown it first: Give the chicken cubes a quick sear in butter or tallow before baking. Those golden edges add a nice touch.
Go full Greek: Sprinkle in some dried oregano and suddenly the dish feels like it came straight from a seaside taverna. Your γιαγιά would be proud.
Herb it up: Thyme, chives, mint, or parsley all work beautifully with feta and lemon. Use whatever fresh herbs you’ve got hanging around.
Garlic lovers unite: Slip in a few thin slices of garlic for that mellow roasted flavor.
Change the cheese: Not in the mood for feta? Crumbled blue cheese brings boldness, while Parmesan adds a nutty, salty kick.
Usually, the best recipes are born from stripping things down to the essentials—no pasta, no oils, no dozens of seasonings—just clean ingredients that let the flavors shine. This Keto Chicken and Feta Stew proves you don’t need a long ingredient list or fancy techniques to get something truly satisfying on the table.
So cube your chicken, crumble that feta, and let the oven do the hard work. I think you’ll find yourself coming back to this recipe again and again.

Such an easy and looking delicious recipe.
I will definitely try it and I am sure I will like it.
Thank you for the kind comment. I’m usually not a fan of feta, but I really like it in this dish. I hope you like it, too!
